Wilson W. "Monk" Batiste, Sr. was born in Zachary, LA, on June 9, 1956, and departed this life on March 17, 2016, at 59 years old. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joyce B. Batiste; sons, Joseph L. Batiste of Lawton OK, Wilson W. Batiste, Jr. of Jackson, LA; and a daughter, Julia A. Batiste; a brother, James John Batiste and wife Mary Bell; a grandson, Malik A. Batiste; 2 sisters-in-law, Hazel Batiste and Georgia Mae Batiste. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, beginning at 5:00 pm until religious services at 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume Thursday, March 24, 2016, in the funeral home chapel starting at 11:00 am with dismissal at 1:30 pm to proceed to the Louisiana National Cemetery for a 2:30 pm interment.
