

Alex Allen ""Rebel"" Savage, 70, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 in Beaumont. He was born September 24, 1943 in Kennedy, Texas to his late parents, Frank Benjamin Savage, Jr. and Cassie Huckman Savage.
Rebel was a longtime resident of the Baytown area, a 1961 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, retired welder from the pipeline industry and after retirement he enjoyed being a straight rancher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rance Savage and a sister, Lana Burns. Survivors include his wife, Lilla Hooks Savage of Dayton; son, Anthony Wayne Savage of Dayton; grandchildren, Christiana Matthews, Alexandria Savage and Seth Savage; great-niece, Steeley Rhea Franklin and Steeley's mother, Shae Lynn Franklin; brothers-in-law, Dan Hooks and his wife Cynthia of Orange and Jimmy Earl Burns and his wife Sheila of Baytown; numerous nieces and nephews; his dog, Emily and his horse, Sally.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Navarre Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2014 at Guedry Cemetery in Batson with Rev. E. Dale Lee officiating.
Pallbearers will be Raymond LaFour, Pat Sappington, Jimmy Earl Burns, Johnnie Barrow, John Harrison, Ronnie Pittman and Blue Burns.
