

Arnold ""Papaw Bruce"" Eddy, 79, of Baytown was born July 12, 1928 in Bridgewater, IA and passed away Tuesday February 5, 2008 at home surrounded by family members. He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant.
He had a love for food and cooking and after his retirement, he became a gourmet chef. His dream of being in the restaurant business became a reality when he opened ""The Brumark Restaurant"" in Crosby. He also was an insurance agent for American General Insurance Company for 25 years.
Bruce was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and especially singing and telling stories to his grandchildren. His knowledge and wisdom will be truly missed, but instilled in those who knew and loved him.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Bernice Christy Eddy; son Kevin; one brother; and four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Baytown; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Bobby Humphrey's of Baytown; sons, Tom Wickesser of College Station, James Ufert of Baytown and David Ufert of Beaumont; brothers and sister-in laws , Linda King of Norman, Ok; Jerry and Norma Eddy of Jacksonville, IL ; Bobby Eddy of Mesa, AZ; sisters and brother-in-laws, Gloria and Buford Chapman of Austin, MN, Sharon Wood of Waterville, IA, Louise Billings of De Moines, IA, and Susan and Dean Stokka of Kingman, AZ; a special niece, Donna Wood of Waterville, IA, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home February 21, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A memorial service with military honors will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Chaplin Rogers Thomson officiating.
The family wishes to thank all who cared for Bruce in his final days, especially, Dr. Federico Dancel, Dr. Fayez Hadidi, Dr. Pamela Medellin; and the nurses and staff of Regency Hospice.
