Arthur Art Wilde

Arthur ""Art"" Wilde, 80, of Baytown was born January 17, 1933 in Taylor, TX and passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 in a Beaumont hospital. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Baytown and was a former member of the Sheldon School District board. He traveled the world. He built and operated a radio station in Mississippi and worked as an offshore electrician for 17 years. He was a ham radio operator, a photographer, and he taught HVAC classes at Nance International for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Lynette Wilde; father-in-law and mother-in-law, C. N. and Dorothy Langston; son, Jerry Wilde; grandson, Matthew Wilde; and granddaughter, Dana Sherman. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shelby Wilde of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Sharon Sherman of Baytown, Steve Sherman of Baytown, Allen and Tammy Wilde of WA, Byron Sherman of Baytown, Tim Wilde of Houston, Todd Wilde of WA, and Leo Wilde of Baytown; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Frank Smith of Dayton and Lisa and Scott Clark of Houston; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Lou and Coot Jones of Minden, LA; and 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.

Serving as pallbearers will be Leo Wilde, Steve Sherman, Mark Thompson, Jr., Matthew Thompson, Schane Niemann, and Scott Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Wilde, Jay Sherman, and Byron Sherman.
