

Avonia Peacher Troxell, 85, longtime resident of the Baytown-Mont Belvieu area, was born February 5, 1920 in Mykawa and passed away Sunday, October 30, 2005 in St. James House of Baytown. She was a 1937 graduate of Pasadena High School, an election judge in Mont Belvieu, and a member of the Mont Belvieu United Methodist Church and the Home Economics for Chambers County. She owned and operated the Rice Paddy Restaurant and enjoyed working outdoors, especially in her yard.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Jake Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Nelson, Ricky Wolf, Ben Smith, Lonnie Fisher, Glenn Jennings, and R. D. Burnside. Honorary pallbearers will Boots Nelson, Arnold Wolf, Johnny Jennings Sr., Elmer Poutra, Lavon Heintschel, and Betty Parsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gainer Edward “Slim” Troxell and son, Gary Troxell and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Sue Troxell of Mont Belvieu; granddaughters and spouse, Tanya and Reid Lowrance of Winnie and Tonya Koenig of Hankamer; and great grandchildren, James and Jack Lowrance and Kade, Tanner, and Shane Koenig.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Philip Eichelberger and especially his wife Reba for the care shown their mother and grandmother, along with a special thank you to the staff of St. James House of Baytown.
