

He was a U. S. Army veteran and a 32nd degree Mason. He attended Paris Junior College and was a certified watchmaker and jewelry designer. He was a member of the Texas Watchmakers Association and the American Horological Society. He was a founding member of Asbury Methodist Church in Odessa, Texas and very active in the Odessa Crime Stoppers Association as well as serving as president of the Old Town Shopping Center Association.
He loved his family and was loved by them. He also loved hunting and fishing and telling stories of the old days. He loved people and making them smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and ""Doug"" Alsobrook and brother, Gordon Alsobrook. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Flora Alsobrook and daughter Phyllis and son-in-law, Phil Johnson, all of Baytown; grandchildren, Samantha Johnson of League City and Meghan Johnson and husband Dennis Robbins of Baytown; and great grandchildren, Eva and Max Robbins.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 5010 N. Main St., Baytown, TX 77521 with Father Nick Novak officiating.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 841125, Dallas, TX 75284, www.americanheart.org or the charity of one's choice.
