Bernard G. Murphy Sr.

Bernard G. Murphy Sr., 79, of Baytown was born December 12, 1929 in Orange and passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 in a local healthcare facility. He was a member of the Pipe Fitters Local #211 and retired from the City of Baytown Engineering Department. He was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses since 1957.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard G. Murphy and Eramese Stiles; brothers, Ralph C. Murphy and Jimmy Blair; sister, Margaret Gibbons; and son, Patrick Lee Murphy. He is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Murphy of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law, Bernard G. Jr. and Linda G. Murphy of Cold Spring and Mark S. and Linda J. Murphy of Baytown; sisters and brother-in-law, Lynda and Randy Hyde of Crosby and Brenda Morris of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Micah Shane Murphy, Lori Joanne Armstrong, Bernard G. Murphy III and Mariah Angelé Murphy; and great grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Fry, Jessica Nicole D'Angelo, Isaiah Armstrong, Madison Armstrong and Micah Shane Murphy Jr.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, May 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Brother Charles Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Micah Shane Murphy, Randall Hyde, Jack Randall Chapman, James B. Smith, Glen Ray Gibson and David Compton.
