

Billie worked at Gulf Coast Hospital and Memorial Hospital. Later she was one of the owners of McCune Paint Company. She was a member of the Pilot Club of Baytown, a den mother for her son’s Cub Scout troop, and leader of her daughter’s Brownie troop and Girl Scout troop. Billie worked at and became a Travel Agent, owning Gemini Travel. Before owning Gemini Travel, she traveled to many countries and most of the U.S. Bowling, dominoes and cards were at the top of her list of relaxing activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond Starr; twin infant brothers; sisters and brothers-in-law, Loran and Carl Williams, Belle and Earl Roberts, and Stella and Clarence Vordenbaum; and grandson, Joshua Ewell.
Billie is survived by her son, Ricky Baker and daughter, Phyllis Ewell and husband, Ronald, all of Baytown; grandchildren, Tami Baker, Ryan Baker of Louisiana, Jason Ewell and wife, Virginie of Canet, France, and Alyson Ewell Case and husband, Jason Case of La Porte; great grandchildren, Nathan Hasselbring, Caitlyn Baker of Louisiana, Saskia Ewell of France, and Collin and Connor Case of La Porte; and two special sisters, Joye Williams and Carlene Voigt, both of Lockhart, TX.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Navarre Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Cedarcrest Cemetery, 3010 Ferry Road Baytown, TX 77520 with Dr. Marvin Rose officiating.
