

Billy Glenn “Bill” Blake, 77, of Baytown was born January 14, 1929 in Devers, TX and passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2006 in a La Porte healthcare facility. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict and a longtime member of Goose Creek Masonic Lodge #1192 and the Baytown Shrine Club, where he headed up their cooking team for many years. He owned and operated Bill Blake Motor Company for over 40 years and was a past president of the Baytown Automobile Dealers Association. He served on the Board of Regents for Lee College for 12 years. He was a people person who loved to ride around and drink coffee and meet different folks, hunt deer, and restore old jeeps.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services with Masonic Rites will be Friday, November 3, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Biddy officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Stacey Memorial Cemetery in Devers.
Serving as pallbearers will be Don Coffey, Jason Lalumandier, Randy Goedrich, Royce Owens, Richard Peebles, Reed Woodcox, Johnny Moorman, and Bo Moorman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Carroll, Larry Taylor, Ron Blake, Chris Moorman, John Moorman, Eli Rich, Jeb Rich, Joe Belt, Dale Smith, and Ryan Blake.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Juanita Moorman and Evelyn Blake; brothers, Joe Blake, Leo Blake, Bobby Blake, Lloyd Blake and Elmo blake and is survived by his wife of 51 years, Doris Blake of Baytown and sons and daughter-in-law, Glenn Blake and Charlie and Karen Blake, all of Houston.
