

Bonnie Lou Herron Heiman passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Bonnie was born the seventh of sixteen children to Coy B and Opal Lee Herron in La Porte, Texas on March 18, 1927. After age three, she came to live with her aunt and uncle William and Frances Wheeler of Baytown. She attended Robert E. Lee High School and later Lee College while working at Esso Refining in a Baytown. At the wedding of a friend, she first saw a dashing WWII pilot named Matthew Frank Heiman. They married in 1948 and soon moved to Austin to attend The University Of Texas. A daughter Christine Anne was born during this time. After returning to Baytown, two sons Mark Herron and William Keith (Smiley) followed. Bonnie was a lifelong Baytownian, active in all aspects of her children's lives. Following the death of her husband in 2005, she moved with her daughter, son-in-law Rich, son Mark, and granddaughters Courtney and Whitney to Spring, Texas in 2008. We were blessed to enjoy six years together as one family, and we count these years as a blessed.
She is remembered for her steadfast Christian faith, her innate kindness, her physical beauty, and her exceptionally loving nature. Her love for family and especially children was legend. For her family ""Meme"" will always remain our model of strength, wisdom, love and joy. She was a deeply loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her treasured husband Colonel Matthew Frank Heiman, son-in-law Gerald Wayne Walker, beloved mother-in-law Rose Heiman, eleven siblings and their spouses, three in-laws and their four spouses. She is survived by her daughter Christine Anne Tholstrup and husband Richard Tholstrup, sons Mark Heiman and Keith Heiman. Granddaughter Nisha Nicole Tholstrup Worsham, spouse Shannon and great grandchildren Belen and Seth. Granddaughters Lauren Whitney Tholstrup, and granddaughter Courtney Christine Tholstrup Phillips, spouse Austin, and great-grandson Travis Colt Phillips. Son Keith Heiman, partner Thomas Davidson and daughters Marie Frances and Grace Louise.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2014 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 4, 2014 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Tolan officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Houston.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the The Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
