Carole Sue Carpenter, 89, of Groveton, Texas passed away in Baytown, Texas, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Friday, Texas, on May 31, 1936, to the late Carrol and Carrie Friday Anderson. Sue formerly lived in Baytown before she and her late husband Thomas relocated back to Groveton. She was a faithful member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church Baytown.
Sue pursued many interests, some of which included being outdoors, spending time with her dogs, and riding on the four-wheeler. For many years, she was a member of a bowling league where she often bowled a perfect game. Sue had a passion for horses. She worked many tireless hours raising and training them. Sue was a very competitive rider winning many championships. She would also teach her skills to others so they would have the knowledge to continue caring for their horses when she had finished training them. Sue was kind and always looking for opportunities to give back. She had a beautiful smile and could easily light up the room with her infectious laugh. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending precious time with her family.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Thomas Lee; and her brother-in-law Leon Potts. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her son Darrel Carpenter and wife Sharon; her grandchildren Clint Carpenter and wife Lindsey and Brent Carpenter and wife April; her great-grandchildren Baylor, Austin, and Kiley Carpenter; her sister Bobbie Jean Potts; her niece Debbie Moore and husband Joe; her nephew Randy Potts and wife Kathy; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Sue Troxell for the loving care she provided Sue in the last few months.
