After a courageous battle with COPD, Carrie “Kay” Alice Masselle, age 80, loving mother of three, has lost her battle and returned home on May 22, 2022. Carrie was born to Lucille and Virgil Cook on October 8,1941 in Houston, Texas.
Carrie will be remembered not only as the best mother anyone could ask for, but for what a beautiful person she was, and for her beautiful soul that was always there to listen. She was a dependable mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. She never judged anyone. She would say, there are consequences to everything you do in life, and If you chose to do it they're your consequences and you must to pay for them. You and you alone, not anyone else. She always gave good advice but never judged you. She always saw the good in people.
Carrie grew up surrounded by her large family. She had 5 siblings and many aunts and uncles. Carrie was influenced by her family to be a loving caring Christian woman, always giving her time to others and she incorporated that into her motherhood. She met her husband Richard Masselle in 1960, they fell in love instantly and knew they both shared a love for family and decided to start their own. Together they had 3 children Richard, Maureen, and Kimberly. As a mother she was generous, loving, and kind. She spoiled them as much as she possibly could. She was the best mother anyone could ask for. She was an obedient Christian woman, she loved the Lord. Carrie became a grandmother in 1980, and she was absolutely thrilled about her family growing even bigger. Carrie loved to be around her family. It would be impossible to not feel sorrow when losing such an amazing woman. But I think we could all say that she would want us to pick ourselves up, find things that inspired us and make a real difference in this world. Be kind to one another, help each other, take care of each other.
When she learned how to get on Facebook there was no stopping her. There wasn't one person she didn't make a comment to on something they shared, I mean everyone. Always kind encouraging words. She will be greatly missed by her family and especially by her son and two daughters and her baby sister, who adore her with all of their hearts. We know that we can't have you but, we're happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother, and sister.
Carrie is survived by her son Richard Masselle, two daughters Maureen Harkins, Kimberly Koch, and sister Sandra Hanel; son in law Anthony Koch; daughter in law Barbara Masselle; grandchildren Joseph Harkins, Richard Harkins, Sean Harkins, Donya Holt, Naomi Fox, Sarah Fox, Jaron Koch, Cara Masselle Velasquez, Mark Masselle, great grandchildren Faith Harkins, Joey Harkins, Halle Kay Harkins, Kyndall Harkins, Caden Harkins, Addison Harkins, and Kailey Velasquez.
