I grew up so far from Texas and only knew my Uncle Tip through occasional visits.   What I do recall is how joyful the reunions were between these brothers.
They were much alike in that they could only laugh or shake their heads at the antics of their wives were when they were together.
Mom and Aunt Betty were always ""up to something"" !    These four had known each other since childhood and were all so close and yet lived so far apart.

It was only after Aunt Betty and my Dad passed that Uncle Tip wrote some wonderfaul stories of he and Dad's adventures as young men growing up in Germantown, Ohio. He also wrote about his time serving in WWII in Italy.  These are treasures for me as it was a rare glimpse into the lives of these two very quiet and private men.

Mom and I were deeply sorry to not be able to be with the family this week.   She will miss her brother-in-law and dear friend.  Uncle Tip will always have a place in my heart.Love....Sharon

We met Tipp during the aftermath of ""The Storm"" and chatted over the back fence.  Often we would see him sitting on his driveway or walking his little Corgie.  He always had a frienly wave.  Condolences to all his family.  

I'm sorry I couldn't be there as I live in Colorado Springs, CO now. I love the Davis Family.  I grew up with Mike as we went to Redeemer Lutheran from the time we were 3 yrs old till we graduated High School together.  This family will always have awesome memories for me and my family.  I was saddened when we lost Betty, then Mike, and now Tippy, but I know their spirits are soaring together.  Sending y'all peace and love.

I remember coming to yalls house with my Mom and Dad when I was a child.  My Dad worked with Tippy at Armco. My thoughts and prayers are with the Davis family. Your family has always held a happy place in my heart.

My thoughts and prayers are with you today.  I wish I could be there but please know that I am thinking of your father today.  I'm sure there is a big Davis family reunion going on in heaven as I write this.  God bless you.

My condolences to all the Davis family, especially Becky, my childhood friend.  I visited Redeemer Lutheran in 2010 after 40 years away and Mr. Davis ushered me to a pew and recognized me....after all that time.  He was such a faithful Servant.

Dear Becky, Ellen and Clifton,

It is so hard to say goodbye to another one of my ""brothers"".  Your dad was a very special man; one who loved his own family in a strong, quiet way and one who the rest of the family could and did rely on for help whenever needed. I know he has missed your mother these past years and can imagine the reunion they are having now.

As for reunions, Lloyd and I always enjoyed the great Davis family reunions that your dad and mom hosted. Lloyd loved talking with your Dad and the other Davis ""boys"".  

I'm glad I got to speak with Tip when we were last in Houston.  He sounded well then and was happy that you, Becky, were there with him.

All of you have a group hug in your dad's memory and know we are there in spirit.

We are very sad that we have lost our friend. Tip was truly a gentleman,s gentleman.He was a very  knowledgeable and respected individual. I truly respected his advice and opinion on things. His years of leadership at Redeemer Lutheran Church will be sorely missed.Tip & Betty will allways have a special place in our hearts. May the family be comforted in God's promise of his love and his assurance of Eternal life/

I always felt very close to your Dad.  He was my father's boss at Armco and he was a very good, talented and smart man.  He loved our Lord Jesus and he loved all of you.  He was a man of integrity.  I held him in very high esteem.  I know he's in paradise as the tears of this world can't be compared to the joy of the world to come.  

I am confident our Lord said to him, ""Well done, you have been a good and faithful servant.""  God blessed us with your Dad and men like him made this world a better place.

""For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive."" 1 Cor. 15:22

Tip always had a smile and a hug for me when I'd see him at Redeemer.  And he always sent us a card at Christmas; I'll miss that.  He's at rest with Betty now; a really sweet couple.  My condolences to all of you.
