Dale Ott

Dale Ott, 58, of Baytown was born July 30, 1953 in Baytown and passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 in a local hospital after a courageous battle against cancer. He was a 1972 graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School and a member of the Baytown Rotary Club and St. Mark's United Methodist Church. He owned and operated Dale Ott Motor Company and Goose Creek Auto Rental. He was a racing enthusiast and enjoyed vintage cars and restored several Nash Metropolitans which received awards. Dale loved his family, friends, and animals, but he especially loved his grandsons. He never met a stranger and enjoyed life to the fullest extent.

He was preceded in death by his father, D. V. Ott; stepfather, Tony Apostalo; brother-in-law, Tommy Standard; and niece, Jeanice Standard Droddy. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jane Pavliska Ott, son and daughter-in-law, Damon and Amy Ott, and mother, Pauline Ott, all of Baytown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dana Standard and Tresa and Tommy Eastman, all of Baytown and Billie Ann and Kevin Robison and Lona Gale and Robert Donlon, all of Houston; grandsons, Dawson and Drew Ott; many nieces and nephews whom he loved and a host of friends.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Proctor officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Flood, Thomas Standard, Jr., Daniel Eastman, Jim Asher, Glen Terry, and Kevin Robison. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Eastman and members of the Baytown Rotary Club.
