Dorothy Nell ""Grandma Dot Ammons

Dorothy Nell ""Grandma Dot"" Ammons, 91, of Baytown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 17, 2012. She was born January 27, 1921 in Cleburne, Texas to her late parents, Presley and Leila Frazier and was the youngest of 6 siblings. She married Homer Ammons on August 1, 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1992.

Mrs. Ammons was a longtime member of Memorial Baptist Church, enjoyed singing in the church choir and was an active member of the Baytown Pilot Club, serving as its president 1986 - 1987. After 25 years of service, she retired from Lee College and then began her second career at Sterling Municipal Library.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Debbie Ammons of Tucson, Arizona; son, Stephen Ammons of Trinity, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Allison and Jimmy Williams of Baytown; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the funeral home with Dr. Mark Broussard officiating.
