

Dorothy Gene Frenzel Herring passed away on the 2nd of March, 2015. Dorothy was surrounded by her loved ones and dear friends at her home in Baytown, Texas. She was born in Daisetta, Texas to Winfield and Atha Lou Warren on October 10, 1928. She married Wilton Carroll Frenzel in 1947, making their home in Nome, Texas. Together they raised 2 daughters, Dottie Carol Frenzel and Donna Rae Frenzel.
Wilton passed away August 31, 1958 leaving behind his wife, Dorothy and daughters Carol (age 9) and Donna (age 7). Shortly after Wilton's death, Dorothy was accepted into Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where she pursued a degree in Education. Graduating with a BA degree, she accepted a first grade teaching position with Devers ISD. The following year, Dorothy transferred to Hardin Jefferson ISD where she taught elementary students for twelve years. In 1979 she accepted a new teaching assignment with Goose Creek ISD in Baytown, Texas. She continued her teaching career at James Bowie Elementary until her retirement in 1989. Dorothy was preceded in death by parents Winfield and Atha Lou Warren, her husband, Wilton Caroll Frenzel, and Fred Ector Herring, and brother, Bennie Ray Warren.
Dorothy was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wife, who is survived by daughters Dottie Carol Johnson and Donna Rae Lintz and husband, Pete Lintz, her sister, Mary Ann Davidson, grandchildren Brad Lintz and wife Leah, Whitney Lintz Turner and husband Steven, and great-grandchildren, Wilton, Weston, Carter Lintz and Davis and Holden Turner, along with many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Dorothy was a faithful member of Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church where she worked in the Thrift Shop and Curt's Kitchen.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to Curt's Kitchen - Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church of Baytown, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6 from 5-8 PM at Navarre Funeral Home, Baytown, Texas. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, 10:00 AM, at the Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church, Baytown, Texas. The burial will take place at the Whittington Cemetery in Devers, Texas at 2:00 PM.
