

She was born June 23, 1923 in Louisiana to her late parents, James Hargis and Rector Elise May Hargis, lived in Baytown most of her life, graduated from Cedar Bayou High School, where she was a cheerleader, enjoyed homemaking and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Baytown.
Mrs. Liles was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest Garbs; husband and father of her children, Jay Carleton; daughter, Cindy Carleton; brother, Buddy Hargin and a sister, Louise Koym.
Survivors include: husband, Charles Liles of Baytown; children, Donna Phillips Sarafis and her husband John of Huntsville, Ricky Carleton and his wife Janice of Tarkington Prairie and Sandra Holloway and her husband Larry of Baytown; sister, Nell Herndon of Point Blank; 11 grandchildren, Jason Phillips, David and Patricia Phillips, Marianne Phillips, Matt and Jamie Holloway, Joshua Holloway, Candace Holloway, Caroline Holloway, Kelly Carleton, Jared and Stephanie Carleton, Darin Carleton, and Derik and Amanda Carleton; 16 great-grandchildren, Dylan Michael Phillips, Paige Holloway, Maddison Holloway, _______ Holloway, Holly Holloway, Cyndi Carleton, Christian Carleton, Christopher Carleton, Felicia Carleton, Starla Carleton, Laken Carleton, Ryder Carleton, Landon Carleton, Dustin Carleton, Seth Carleton, and Braden Carleton; and great great grandchild, Nicholas Carleton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Baytown with Rev. Carey D. Froelich officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Baytown under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Baytown.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Navarre Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
