I was just thinking back to the time I shadowed Dr Christensen as a high school student of Robert E Lee. I was telling a friend of mine about my experience there. He’s a big reason why I wanted to get into the medical field animals. This was back in 2014-2015. My deepest condolences to his family and clinic.

I was heart broken when I read about Dr. Christensen’s passing this morning. He was so kind and such a wonderful doctor to our animals over the years. We moved last year and didn’t know until we received our Christmas card from Baytown Animal Hospital. 
Our prayers are with his family and staff during this holiday season. He will be greatly missed.

To the family, I am so sorry for your lost.  I just saw the news and got word of Dr. Christensen's passing.   I just wanted to say how much we loved having him as our vet, and will miss him dearly.   His love of animals was evident when treating all of our pets, dogs and cats alike.   He's bed side manner was like none I've ever experienced.   He shared happiness in our good times, and sadness in the bad.   I honestly think he loved our pets as much as we do.  That said, we will truly miss you Dr. Christensen. Dr. Christensen was our wonderful, trusted veterinarian while we lived in Highlands from 1994-2005.  Our cats at first - then a beautiful Great Dane and Catahoula puppy mix was dropped at our doorstep in the 1998 flood on the San Jacinto River; we brought him straight to Doc.  He took one look at those giant paws, laughed and said “You know - he is not a dog....he is a horse!”  And our amazing, massive Buster was in his care.  The gifts of ivy when our beloveds would cross The Rainbow Bridge meant the world to us; and we carefully care for each to this day....by name in our home in Summerwood. I have had the pleasure of knowing Doc over the last 16 months. I just found out today and am truly saddened at the news of his passing. He was so full of life and I pray for his family in these times. He truly cared about his patients and his people. God bless you doc. 

I have had the pleasure of knowing Dr Christensen for a few decades.  He has been a great colleague and supporter of the veterinary  medical profession.  My heart goes out to his family, the staff and the clients he loved so dearly. He was a good man with a good heart with excellent skills  that he used to serve the many animals that had the good fortune to enter his veterinary medical practice. 

Oh my dear God Jesus. I just learned Doc has passed away today and it’s been over a month. My heart is broke, yet I know Heaven has gain a jewel.  God gave this man such a gift in what love is. He had such a passion for our animals and I personally felt the one on one passion he had with my animals. It’s been so many years of watching and receiving so much gratitude and compassion and knowledge from this gifted professional. He loved all our animals. I never experienced the great love he expressed with my animals, as if they were the only ones he tended to.  God watch over his family and lift them up with the same peace and love he expressed to us. Lord Jesus please express my feelings of compassion to this family. You will be greatly missed Larry Christensen!!

I just found out Doc passed in June, he will be missed so  much.  I have been taking my animals to his clinic for est of 34 years.  No other vet like him.  He was so caring and special.  I remember my first time having to put one of my cats down because of illness, I was so upset that 3 days later  I needed to talk, I called he had me come in and he reassured me it was all good.  I mean we don't find many that will take that extra step.  His staff thru the years and still today have always been wonderful, caring people.  That is what has always kept me coming back.  My thoughts and prayers going out to his family and staff for their loss.  Know that he is up in heaven with all the animals he has taken care of having a wonderful time.  God Bless.

I am so sad to only find out today about Doc passing  away last month  because I no longer live in Baytown. 
 I only knew him for a few years, but he was  a wonderful  person and an exceptional  vet and took excellent care of my Boston Terrier .  He really cared so much for  all the pets he took care of and for their owners.  The entire staff at the clinic is so nice and friendly. My sincere condolences go out to all of them that I know so well and to Doc’s wife and all his family.  May the Holy Spirit be with them during this difficult time.
Coincidentally I lost my longtime Houston vet,  Dr. Ben Thorp -Voss Road Animal Clinic when he passed away unexpectedly in December.  
May God hold both of these wonderful servants in the palm of His Hand.

I have a P.S. to my previous memory.  One of my rescues, little bitty Killer (12# in his prime) was never a problem when we took him to Doc.  Then we moved to La Porte for 2 years.  Killer bit every vet we took him to, one got bit twice.  In 2004 we moved back to Baytown and Killer got to return to Doc.  No problems, even when Doc put him down.   Doc was THAT good.  He will be missed by all - 2 and 4 legged.  Condolences to his family and staff.  


We have been bringing our fur babies to Doc since our family came to Texas in 1982.  Once I moved to Houston, I tried other vets, but ended up back with Doc after a short time.  He was always so kind and wonderful with my dogs.  I am shocked and heartbroken.  My deepest sympathies to his family and his staff.  He will be missed!

Dr. Christensen is one of the most genuinely caring veterinarians I have had the pleasure of meeting.  My last years in Texas I began to rescue dogs and found in him  the most gentle, attentive , and caring person.  Many times I rescued a dog(s) on my way to work and did it with the confidence I could drop the pet at his clinic and he/she would receive the best care while I was at work.
Couldn't say enough of this wonderful human being. His family will certainly miss him. Hope they find comfort in knowing they were blessed with the company of such a beautiful person. A life well lived.

Dr Christensen was our doctor for our first “child” Bear and all our other animals. . He opened his clinic in 1980 and we were some of his first clients. I will never forget how kind he and his staff were to all of them. Doc was always there for us no matter the time of day or night. He cried with us every time we had to say goodbye to one of our pets.

 He was one of the kindest and sweetest men I have ever met.  We are very saddened to hear of his passing but know that there were many two and four legged friends to greet him when he arrived in Heaven.  God bless you Dr Christensen

Doc, was a good friend and a great Vet.  He had a way of making us feel that our furry children were the best behaved and most important patients he had.  He would call to check to make sure we were following his advice and making sure his patients were doing well.  He would always joke if I took the pups in myself by answering questions that I had not asked because he knew Diane would ask me questions when I got home that I would not have a clue about the answers.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Betty and the staff.

We are sad beyond measure at the loss of our "Doc."  He was our veterinarian for almost thirty years.  Intelligence, dedication, wisdom, humor, grace--these defined him, and, of course, a love of animals, and sometimes, perhaps, the people that came with them. I think Doc was someone we just thought would always be there. I know that I, as well as many many others,  feel a loss that can’t be filled. Doc was a person that just made you feel better after taking your fur babies to him. His office staff expressed the same kind of warmth that he displayed and my heart breaks for everyone. We were so saddened to get this news. It was like losing a family member. We have been in Baytown since 1979. Doc, Betty and JoLynn have been the one constants in our lives. I became part of Doc’s staff in my late 20’s and worked there many years. I instantly felt like part of a wonderful family of animal lovers,. Everyone welcomed me and I absolutely loved being a part of his team! 
I learned so much from Doc and have the greatest admiration for him!!  I feel like I’m a better person and parent because working along side him every day. I learned his beliefs and values, I witnessed so many amazing acts of kindness through the years!  He was always so good to my kids, the 2 legged ones and the 4 legged ones! As a family  our dogs have been going to Dr Christiansen it seems like forever (39years). We could not have asked for a better  vet. He was the best. I am saddened to have heard this news today. My heart is deeply saddened by the loss of “Doc” he was our vet but he was so much more. He was a good friend he knew my children and watched them grow up and become pet owners of their own he has cared for my pets and that of my children for over 38 years.. His bed side manners were second to none he always felt my pain whenever I lost each of my labs and always listen to me. I always enjoyed taking Buster, Luke and Beau in just for a quick visit while he checked on my pets always a great conversation ....... he will forever be in our hearts.

My hearth goes out to you and your family at this difficult  time. Dr. Christensen had taken care of several of my dogs over the years.  So sorry for your family lost and community has lost a great person .   

My heart breaks for Doc’s family, friends, and staff. He has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mom worked for him for years when I was younger (I’m 29 now). We have always taken all of our dogs and cats to him. He has come to the rescue, meeting us up at the clinic after hours on several occasions for various emergencies throughout my life.  He’s the only person I’d trust with my Bruiser- a Chinese Crested. He’d always joke with me about Bruiser being bald like him. 😂 I remember being so excited to tell him when I was accepted to Texas A&M. I always looked up to him, such a sweet man. I hate that I didn’t get to introduce him to my daughter. He will certainly be missed. 

What a privilege to have met and become acquainted with such a man.  Doc has taken care of all of my animals and even me sometimes when he had to share sad news. Our family will miss his greatly.   

Larry will be remembered by all who met him as one of the really good guys.  He always took time, whether at his office or elsewhere to see how you and especially your pets really were.  Larry cared not only for out pets, but also for us.  God bless and be with his family.

Our deepest condolences to the family and Dr C’s staff. He is going to be missed by all that knew him for sure. He was so passionate about the work he did and it definitely showed. We have been going to BAH since the early 80’s (almost 40 yrs) and have been so happy how well our fur babies were taken care of; from routine visits to surgeries and even end of life. 
 Two memories that stand out are 
1) when Doc came to the house and euthanized one of our dogs. He then helped my dad bury him. 
2) when Doc and Mrs Betty stayed after hours to X-ray my dog that passed away an hour earlier to give me answers. We were heart broken at our losses but they both were so caring to our needs. 
RIP Dr C; I’m sure you were greeted in Heaven not only by family but by all your fur baby clients that are there as well.

My heart is broken over the news of this loss.  This is not easy to bear and a shock.  Doc had to euthanize my kitty 'Dusty' in January and was almost as upset as I was.  He had a talent for the animals he treated and people in general.  Fly High Dr. Larry and prayers for his family and staff.

Like so many others, Doc was my vet for 38 years.  He was so kind and caring with my fur babies enabling them to live long and happy lives;  my Cali was 22-1/2 when she passed in April 2018.   He was
just as caring and kind to me, the 'parent',  when it came time to let
them go.  His staff is the best.   My condolences and prayers are with the family and the staff.   He will be so missed.

Doc was a good dr. We have been going there since 97. He always asked how my family was doing.  I can't believe he is gone. We brought all our fur babies to him. Him and his staff were very friendly. He was a straight shooter bout your animals. 

I called him “Doc”, but he was much more than that.  A friend of our family.  He loved what he did and it shined in his face.  He left some big shoes to fill.  My dogs were always happy to see him, he had a very special calling.

I have taken my precious cat pets to Dr Christensen for over 30 years and he has treated each and every one as precious.
He will be so missed. All my condolences go out to his family and his staff.  I'm sorry to have to miss his services due to a prior commitment but I will be there in spirit.  I'll have such good memories of him. 

He took the best care of all my dogs for years and years. Through all the hard times and tough decisions that had to be made, he was always there to help and always shot straight with you. I would come in and see him busy in the back as always and just yell, 'Hey Doc' and he always would holler back 'Hey Dave. How are yall doing?' And meant it. He had all my trust . He was good man and I know I will miss him.  Thanks Doc you were the Best.

Doc Christensen was such a wonderful man and  great person all around!  He had such a bed side manner which always made you feel at easen no matter the situation.  I always thought highly of him. He will be missed greatly. Sending prayers to his family and staff during this difficult  time.

Use to Love going there he was so so Friendly and loved what he did!   he was such a great Vet, Friend to anyone that he met...  He will truly be missed!  

Doctor Christensen has been our family vet for many years. He not only took such good care of our fur babies through all the stages of their lives but was there to help us through those stages also. Dr. Christensen has been our family vet since i was a teenager, and all of my adult life. He has seen me in tears over my losses, and always been a great help. Now I am in tears again for all of our loss. God bless him and all his family.

Doc was an exceptional human being.  I have trusted my pets care to him since 1996.  He was a loving soul who provided excellent care to his patients.  His staff is just as caring as Doc.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

My Aunt Mary called me to tell me that  Doc had passed away. She was devastated as so many People that love him feels. 
I met him for the first time about two years ago when my cat Christmas was very ill. My precious fur baby for almost 18 years old was slipping away. 
God worked through this sweet man that loved animals so very much & I was blessed with about 4 more months with Christmas.

After hearing the news about Doc Christensen, I still find it hard to believe.  Beau and I just saw Doc a month ago.  Doc was always so knowledgeable and a spirited man with a big smile and kind words.  It feels like I am a member of his extended Family like so many others who have posted there thoughts and experiences with Doc and their four legged family members.  

After a sudden death of my German shepherd Rex, I talked with Doc seeking his advice;  a couple days later a florist delivery showed up at my front door; I told the lady she must be at the wrong address . . . She asked "didn't you just have a death in your Family?". . . Doc with tears in my eyes, loosing You I again feel the same; myself and so many others who's lives you have touched will miss you so very much . . . Until we meet again.

Over the years, he has been good to us when it was just me taking the animals while mom works and I relay the message to her. I'm going miss him calling me "Youngster".

What a wonderful man! He was always happy and positive. He would call me "younin" ha and I was older than he was. Such a precious soul! I will miss him so much!! Praying for the family and staff at Baytown Animal. He will be missed!!

Doc was not only our vet, but our friend!! He has cared for our pets many years. Doc and staff are awesome!! I was devastated when I found out he had passed away!! He was a great person and loved taking care of his patients. 

Doc was the first and only vet I ever went to over 26 years ago when I moved to Baytown and had our Rottweiler, Missy.  Went through a time without pets but went right back when we got Elvis, Elizabeth, Echo then we had to get our cat Eli.
He took care of all my fur babies and took care  of each one of them as if they were his very own. They were never afraid of him!  You will be greatly missed and going to the vet will never be the same without you. You and your staff always made my boys, me and our babies feel welcomed, loved and at ease.
There will never be another Dr. Christenson.  

Doc was a remarkable vet and human!  He always made me feel like a proud pet parent telling me how good my pets  were and told me treats were like snicker bars.  He took time to know her is patients and their owners and truly cared for them. Going to the vet won’t be the same.  Doc is in “God’s Country” now.

Memory- At one point we were regulars at Baytown Animal Hospital. My daughter had a mischievous cat she named him Heathcliff. He was true to his name. It got to where Doc would say what did he do now. I never consider my cats spoiled until had him for a week during this time he had to amputate his leg. The spoiled cat didn't want to eat for him so he had to force feed the cat. The day we were picking him up Doc said he ate for his wife because she  coo cooed him. So when he asked who spoils the cat my kids pointed at me. I knew I was done for. Needless  to say when any of my babies had to stay at the Hospital he would always send them home with me because they wouldn't eat while they were there. I would just returned them as instructed. All my fur babies were strays and never surprised him when I brought a new fur baby. We will miss him dearly. 
I'm very sorry for your loss.  My thoughts and prayers are to all he has touched. God has called him home and are celebrating in Heaven. God bless you all.

With the past year of our Tink's poor health as well the health set backs that Dr. Lipps has had we were put in a dire situation when Tinks immediate health took a turn for the worst. We found ourselves at Dr. Christensen's in a crisis that we couldn't have handled without his compassion, professionalism as an DVM and most of all the love he diaplayed for his patient. To his wife and immediate family,  May God Bless You, as a community we have lost a great friend and a one of a kind DMV. Thank you for all the hours you have sacrificed for our loved ones. To the office staff thank you for all you do.

We will truly miss Dr. Christensen. He was always so loving and care for all of our pets- our two dogs (Dreyfuss and Neal) and our cat, Miracle. We appreciated him and Ms. Betty caring for Neal and Miracle when we lost our loved one, Denice in 2015. When we lost Dreyfuss in 1998 and Neal in 2017, he sent us flowers in their memory. Rest in Peace, Doc Christensen.

Dr. Christensen was so amazing with our pets and with us always taking into consideration how we felt about our 4 legged family members. We feel like we have lost a family member. With love in our hearts we send you off to heaven.

To Doc's Family, I am so sorry for your loss.  He was the kindest man I have ever known in my life!  He not only took care of all of our fur babies, but he cared for us too!!!  He was the best Vet I have ever known!  I knew I could trust him no matter what.  He was a hero to us!
To Doc's Staff, I am sorry for your loss as well.  I know how much he meant to y'all and y'all to him.  You were all so good to our babies!  I pray that God will comfort Doc's family and work family during this most difficult time.  May the good memories stay in your heart forever. 
Doc, thank you for being the nicest person we have ever known! You left the biggest imprint on our hearts as one of the most caring people in the world! Heaven truly gained an Angel!  We will miss you...Rest in Peace.

What a shock and terrible loss to all of us who have counted on him and his clinic for the wonderful care of our pets and the sometimes necessary emotional support when we lose an animal friend.  I will miss him so very much.

Prayers for his family his great staff and all pet parents he cared for. I will miss him and so sorry for your loss. He truly cared for the animals he saw. All of our four dogs were his patients. 

Doc has been our vet for over 25yr. We will all miss him😢😢😢😢. We send our Love and Prayers to the family and the family at Baytown Animal Hospital.

My thoughts and prayers for Family and Friends.  Dr. Christensen you will will be missed. Thank you for taking such good care of my animals for so many years.  He would laugh at my Dog Emily, she would limp for days every time he cut her nails but the minute she got outside the office she would climb on the rocks by the tree. He would always say she's playing you, she's fine.  Rest In Peace Doc.  You will be missed. 🙏

Dr. Cristensen you will truly be missed.  I remember when you took care of our dog Dryfuss.  You were always so sweet and caring.  You also took care of my Mom's next dog Neal and her cat Miracle when my Sister Denice passed away.  You and your wife really were so sweet to do that for us.  May your Soul Rest In Peace.  Again you will be missed by Me and My Family.  🙏

The best vet/person I can think of.  Great with our pets and always made us feel positive.  So missed.

My prayers are with Dr. Christensen's family & friends.  My heart is going out to all his staff as well.  He has been our vet since my late husband & I moved here to TX back in 2010.  He will surely be missed.  He was truly a great vet and person.  I'm sure you will be met by all those loving pets you helped throughout your career.  May God be with you.  Hugs to all who knew him.
