Nenaw, you were such an amazing grandma to not only me but all of your other grandchildren, too. I'm gonna miss you so much, but I have to remember you're not suffering up there. You can walk again, talk again, you won't need your glasses (or your false teeth!). You're whole again and you're up there with Pepaw, Uncle Brad, your mom and dad, etc. I've had so many memories and good advice that i'll keep with me for the rest of my life. You always told me, ""Be good to yourself."" So, I will be good to myself. I'm gonna miss kissing you goodnight every night, and you teasing us everytime me and Miranda were grumpy. I'm gonna miss making memories with you, Nenaw. It's so hard to live without you, but I know it won't be long before i'm in your arms again up in Heaven. We'll see each other again someday. Until then, I love you so much. And I will take care of momma, daddy, and Miranda and help momma as much as I can like you always told me to.

There are no words to describe the sadness I felt when I heard of the passing of this Great Lady. Always a glowing examle of generosity and humanitaranism. The world was made better by having her here and is less with her passing.

She was one of my favorite people-lots of memories of all of us growing up and visits to Aunt Hattie's house with her and all of my cousins.  She had great caregivers throughout her life, and in her last days.  I know she was as happy as she could have been surrounded by all of that love!

I will always remember the way you made me laugh with your unique perspective.  Of all of the family; I have always felt the most connected to you in spirit.  I'm sure many of us feel the same way.  I know I will miss you very much.  You will always be in my heart and I am so fortunate to have known and learned from you. I wish I could be there to say goodbye; but I know it's not really.  We will all be up there together in Heaven Soon! Thank you for taking such good care of all of us!

Aunt Sissy and Uncle Lanky both took great care of me, buying me boots every year at christmas and had an understanding heart about dealing with kids. I knew it was coming, but when I heard, there was a flood of memories from Christmas and holidays and all the times at their house spending the night growing up. I remember once when Melody (her daughter) had girls over to spend the night and they were telling scary stories in her bedroom. She was older than me and I got scared and went in the kitchen with aunt sissy. I remember her making me feel like we were having a better time than Melody and her friends and jokingly acting as if we didn't need them to have our own good time. It was a great feeling for a young boy. She always knew how to make you feel important. So anyway, this week is a blah, blue, emotional week for me. I am just struggling with it. Aunt sissy was a tremendous lady. She always understood the kids it seemed and was never harsh on us.

Earlene was my mom's favorite niece. They were close in age and were sisters in heart. Although she was my first cousin, Earlene was Aunt Sissy to me and my siblings. We have so many fond memories of our Houston relatives. I am so grateful that my dad, Marion Hallmark, and I were able to vist with Earlene and our Houston family last summer. The visit was a gift to us all. Earlene will be missed. I know she's in a better place. Love to all! -Ardis Hallmark Perkins Rider

I spent so many fun days and nights with Mel in the Chapman house, I will cherish those memories forever. Mrs. Chapman was such a special lady, always willing to help me out when I needed it! And also thanks for being such a wonderful friend and support to my family for so many years. The Boulevard is definitely not the same without our special family members. You were so loved by all friends and family.

We love and miss you Nenaw so much! We have so many sweet memories of you. You are walking in the streets of gold with Brad and Pepaw now. May you rest in peace.

Nenaw you were such a wonderful grandma. You always had such a great outlook in life.  And you brought so much joy to so many people.  I remember when Scotty took me to meet you for the first time, I felt so special because I knew Scotty would not bring just anyone to meet his Nenaw.
