Edwin was a longtime resident of Baytown and a member of First Baptist Church of Baytown, where he was a deacon and enjoyed singing in the choir. He also loved Southern Gospel Music and playing and watching golf.
Survivors include his wife, Risa Smith; daughter, Mandy Smith; mother-in-law, Rubye Janice Neuman and grandchildren, Leslie Janice Valkner, James Edwin Valkner and Ethan John Valkner all of Baytown. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Navarre Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
