

In 1935, she met and married Ernest Eugene Bennett and they had five children. They settled in Baytown in 1951 were they raised their family. In 1974 they found their retirement place on Lake Livingston that they both loved. They built a home in the little community of Point Blank, Texas called Governor’s Point. Here she enjoyed working in the garden, sewing, quilting, fishing and making a lot of new friends. After 51 years of marriage she lost her husband, but stayed in Point Blank until two years ago when she moved back to Baytown to be closer to her family.
Her family was always first with her, and they all loved her fried chicken, fruit cobblers, and fresh vegetables from her garden. She was a great Mother, Memaw and Great-Memaw B.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Eugene Bennett; parents, Robert Emmitt and Omega Mae Jordan; Sons, Emmitt Eugene Bennett and Don Wayne Bennett; brothers, Gus, Robert, and Curtis Jordan; sisters, Maurine Jordan, Paul Lee Huff, and Doris Robinson Waldon.
She is survived by Daughters & Sons-In-Law, Marie & Vernon Williams of Dickinson, Tina & James Romero of Baytown, Anna Rose & Bill Wilkie of Baytown; Daughter-In-Law, Rolena Bennett Cooling of Baytown;Sister, Mary Frances Arnauld of Marshall; Sister-In-Law, Dorsey Mae Jordan of Victoria; Brother & Sister-In-Law, James Alton & Jeanene Jordan of Fredericksburg, TX.; Grandchildren and spouses, Leslie Maeker of Katy, Eddie & Tammy Williams of Pasadena, Karen & Jack Johnson of Dickinson, Tania & Victor Barrientes of Baytown, Donna & Ray Keith of Sheppard, Kelly & Stacy Wilkie of New Braunfels, Michael & Judy Bennett of Baytown, Alicia & Matt Chachere of Dayton, Paula & Craig Mitchell of Humble; 18 Great Grandchildren; 6 Step Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandson; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Navarre Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Williams, Kelly Wilkie, Michael Bennett, Curtis Gillentine, Matt Chachere, Vernon Williams, Jimmy Romero, and Bill Wilkie.
The family would like to give special thanks to her granddaughter, Karen Johnson, the nurses and staff of American Hospice, and of Regency Village Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing for their love and care.
