She came to Baytown with her mother, sister Amalia and brother Vicente Jr. in 1920. They joined their father, who was working for Humble Oil Refinery and lived in the “tent city” known as “El Campo Viejo”.
Etelvina is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Jose Felipe Marron, her parents Vicente and Gertrudes Nieto, her sisters Amalia Hernandez and Lois Estrada, her brothers Vicente Jr., Rodolfo, Joe, and Jesus Nieto; her sons Benjamin and Roy Jack Marron, and Tony Angel Nieto.
She is survived by her sisters Elvira Barajas, Lydia Castillo, Mary Nieto, and brother Henry Nieto; surviving children Mary Ortiz, Emma I. Garcia, Frank Marron (Felipa), Isabel Gonzales (Silver), Johnny E. Marron (Eloisa), Richard Marron (Mia), Ralph Marron (Paulita) and step-daughter Paula Marron. There are 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring the family as Pallbearers are Rick Marron, Juan Marron, David Marron, Israel Gonzales, Miguel Ceja, Matthew E. Muniz, and Jose Bernal, Jr. Honorary pallbearers include Jason Garcia, Ken Norman, Rudy Nieto, Ray Nieto and Manuel Ortiz, Jr.
