

A memorial celebrating the life of longtime Baytown resident Ethel Kimmons will be held at 3pm Thursday, February 25th, in the Chapel at Saint James House, 5800 West Baker Road, Baytown with the Reverend Billy Tomlin officiating.
Ethel, 101, was born October 31, 1908 in Houston and passed away Friday, February 12, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, E. C. ""Jack"" Kimmons and is survived by her three children, Joanne Hemme, Joyce Sanches and husband, Bill, Jack Kimmons and wife, Nancy; six grandchildren, Debrah Grayum, Harry ""Butch"" Grayum, Glenda McElderry, Roy Gene Kimmons, Roxanne Kimmons and Ruthie Kimmons-Rhode; and three great grandchildren, Luke, Lyle and Christopher.
Ethel was a member of First Christian Church, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star chapter #798 and the Baytown Beauceants. She was a volunteer at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital and for the American Cancer Society. She was an avid reader and loved to socialize over a good game of cards. During her husband's lifetime, the two enjoyed traveling in the United states and abroad.
Ethel's family would like to thank Corine and all the staff of Saint James House of Baytown for the love and care shown her over the many years she was in residence.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ethel's memory to the American Cancer Society, or to a charity of your choice.
