

She was born June 30, 1920 in Esther, Missouri to her late Parents: Frank LaRose and Willa Edwards Larose and had lived in Baytown for the last 43 years.
She was an active member of the First Westminster Presbyterian Church in Baytown, where she served as Clerk of Session, Commissioner to the General Assembly, Sunday School teacher, Elder of the Church and was formerly a member of the Women’s Circle.
Mrs. Metcalf’s passion was taking care of her family. Among her favorite activities were reading, traveling, flowers, dogs and watching baseball, with the Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals being favorite teams.
Evelyn formerly worked at the Baytown Sun in the Classifieds Department.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Baytown with Dr. Richard Kleiman officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Baytown.
She is survived by: Husband of 62 years: Frank H. Metcalf of Baytown; Sons: Mike Metcalf and his wife Deborah of Rosenberg, Mark Metcalf and his wife Leslie of Baytown and Matt Metcalf and his wife Claudia of Houston; Daughter: Marcia Gilbert and her husband Cloy of Baytown; Grandson: Nicholas Metcalf of Baytown and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by: Parents: Frank LaRose and Willa Edwards Larose and a Brother: Leman LaRose.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Metcalf, Mark Metcalf, Matt Metcalf, Cloy Gilbert, Nicholas Metcalf and D. J. Hendrix.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 20, 2007 at the Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Baytown.
