

Fred Murphy, 83, of Baytown was born April 17, 1926 in Hardin, TX and passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith and was a U. S. Army WWII veteran. He was a member of the Crosby American Legion Post #658 and the Crosby Fair Association, where he was a past president. He was a heavy equipment operator and retired from Harris County Precinct #2.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ruby Murphy; parents, Carl and Ruby Murphy; and brother, Arvil Lee Murphy and is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Alton LeBlanc, Donna and Richard Hillard and Marleen Marlow, all of Baytown, Darleen and John Shaw of Willis and Joyce Ann Fannin of La Porte; sisters, Rebecca Lowrey of Beach City and Jeanette Fjeld of Corpus Christi; and 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Fox, Lynn Tims, Austin Tims, Tim Hayes, Michael Shaw, Scott Shaw, Reid Hillard and Steve Cox.
