Gary attended Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown. After graduation from high school he served as an Army Medic in the United States Army and was proud to be a military veteran. Gary was also proud to volunteer as EMS personnel in the city of Mont Belvieu. He retired from Shell after 30 plus years of employment. He enjoyed game nights with his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In recent years Gary came to enjoy watching his favorite shows and having dinners with his many friends.
Gary is survived by his sister, Nancy Rice and husband Ronnie; daughter, Kristi Medows; son, Shane Boyer and wife Shea; grandchildren, Taylor Medows, Davia Jewell and husband Marc, Cullen Boyer, and Grant Boyer; great grandchildren, Jenna Jewell and Jarren Jewell; two nephews and their families, Kevin Lochridge, and Mark Lochridge; as well as many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special word of gratitude to the community of St. James for their friendship and care given to Gary.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at Navarre Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Navarre Funeral Home, with interment to follow at 11:45 am in Cedarcrest Cemetery, Baytown, TX.
