Geneta Annette Smith

Geneta Lawhon Price Smith, 83, of Baytown, TX, passed away on February 14, 2022 in Clear Lake, TX. She was born on March 14, 1938 in Marietta, TX to William Edgar and Hazel Lee Lawhon (both deceased).

Geneta worked at Memorial Baptist Church for 16 years as an administrative Assistant and Financial Assistant. After retiring from MBC, she worked with her husband Bill preparing taxes. She loved both jobs because of the people she met and worked with. She continued working on taxes, even after Bill's death, for 5 more years. She had several positions at the church as a young adult; Primary Choir, GA's Leader, and Adult Choir Member (where she made most of the costumes for Christmas and Easter musicals), and she taught Sunday School.

Geneta loved to work puzzles, word puzzles in particular. She loved attending her sons and grandsons baseball and football games and was a big Astros fan.

Geneta is preceded in death by her husband Bill C. Smith; son, Tony Price; and brother, Keith Lawhon.

She is survived by sons, Larry Price, and Kelly Price and his wife Lori; grandchildren, Patrick Price, Courtney Price, Kelton Price and Walker Wheeland.

A memorial service for Geneta will be held at Memorial Baptist Church, 600 W. Sterling Ave., Baytown, TX 77520 on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00 am.
