Georgia Sneed

Georgia Sneed, 82, of Baytown was born October 11, 1931, in Denton Valley and passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, in a local hospital. She retired from Sears with several years of service and was a very active member of New Journey Church. She loved God and her family and friends with all of her heart and they in turn loved her back. She was a great cook and had a green thumb.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Minnie Wood; brother, Ralph Wood; sister, Mary McGuire; and granddaughter, Lori Sneed. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Fred T. Sneed of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin and Paula Sneed of Mont Belvieu, John and Shirley Sneed of Dayton, Charles ""Sam"" and Kitty Sneed of Spring, and Richard and Kaye Sneed of Baytown; daughters and sons-in-law, Amiee and Tom LaValley of Nacogdoches and Janice and Frank Martin of Astoria, OR; brother, Bill and Nell Wood of Abilene; sisters, Ruby Hanna and Bea and Melton Tomlinson, both of Highlands; grandchildren and their spouses, Steven and Anna Sneed, Matthew and Alissa Sneed, Andrew Sneed, Cindy Sneed, Brandon and Jennifer LaValley, Justin LaValley, Brooke and Andy Roberson, Shane Barefoot, Kristina and Richard Scott, and Nikki Gascoigne; and numerous great grandchildren.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday, July 28, 2014, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a funeral to follow at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Breaux officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Brock, J. R. Gill, James Gallo, Jonathan Moore, Kevin Clanton, and Paul Clay.
