

Gerald H. Bryant, 81, of Baytown was born April 30, 1930 in Ada, OK and passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011 in a local hospital. He attended Cedar Baptist Church. He attended the University of Arkansas on a basketball scholarship before being drafted into the Army. After his military service, he graduated from Louisiana Tech with a bachelor's degree in business. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Alpha Bryant and brothers, Donald Bryant and Neland Bryant. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sue Bryant of Baytown; son, Bill Bryant of San Marcos; daughter, Becky Bryant of Longview; sisters, Yvonne Farmer of Lake Charles, LA and Marianne Cosby of Monroe, LA; and grandchildren, Nicole Bryant of Longview and Meagan Christian of Pearland.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday, August 2, 2011 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a funeral to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Dr. Mark Broussard officiating. He will be cremated afterwards and interred in Louisiana.
