

Gerald S. ""Jerry"" Wooster, 63, passed away on October 20, 2013 in a Houston hospital. A descendent of the pioneering Wooster family, he was born in Baytown on January 5, 1950. He was raised in Baytown and was a member of the first graduating class of Ross S. Sterling High School.
At the time of his death, Jerry was employed by SNC-Lavalin as an Electrical Designer. He had spent his career employed in the fields of residential electrical installation and industrial electrical design. He loved his work and felt honored to work with so many amazing people throughout his career.
Jerry truly lived a life of adventure, worthy of legend. His quiet demeanor belied a deep intellect, a quick wit, and a gentle, pervasive charm. His lifelong interests included boating and fishing, motorcycle touring, and traveling. He was a proud, hands-on dad to his sons and stepsons. Throughout his life, he participated in many civic and environmental causes and groups, including the CCA, the Harley Owners Group, NRA, and the US Power Squadron. Perhaps most notably, he was the founder of the Saltwater Anglers League of Texas – Baytown, and served that organization in many capacities. He was also an avid student of Texas history and was a proud son of Texas.
He is preceded in death by his father, Francis Stanley Wooster, his sister-in-law, Martha Ruth Ashe, and his mother-in-law, Martha Irene Ashe. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ashe Wooster, sons Michael Stanley Wooster of Baytown, John Aaron Wooster of Orlando, Florida, stepsons Cameron David Kolaja and Amanda Harndon of Houston, and Colton Ashe Kolaja of Austin. He is also survived by granddaughter Aisley Ashe Kolaja and his mother, Doris Blackwell Wooster of Baytown.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown. Officiant will be Pastor Andrew Payne. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
