Gerardo Horta

Gerardo Horta, 54, of Baytown, Texas, passed away unexpectedly at his home, on Sunday, February 22, 2026. He was born in San Leon Guanajuato, Mexico, on September 30, 1971, to Juana Rodriguez and the late Juan Manuel Horta.

Gerardo pursued many interests, some of which included his love for cooking, playing pool and board games. He was an avid sports fan, who could often be found watching the Dallas Cowboys or the Houston Astros on tv. Gerardo enjoyed the simple things in life like just staying home. He was naturally funny and his infectious laugh could light up the room with his presence. Gerardo loved to play jokes on others, it made his day to see others smile. His greatest joy in life came from the time spent with his children and family. He was his children’s biggest fan while they were growing up. He would attend their sporting events as often as possible.

Gerardo was preceded in death by his father; and his wife Melissa. He is survived by his children Gerardo Horta, Karianna Horta, Melanie Horta, and AJ Horta; his mother Juana; his siblings Jorge, Adriana, Angelica, Juan, Patricia, Luis, Manuel, and Elodia; his numerous nieces and nephews; his many cousins; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
