

On June 19, 2010, at the age of 95, Gertrude ""Mamaw"" Spell, a very devoted Christian warrior, went to be with Jesus. She joined her husband and a host of friends and relatives on the streets of gold. She lived a life filled with love for her family, always putting their needs ahead of anything she needed for herself. She loved to bake pies and for many years, made and sold peanut brittle to help her grandchildren and great grandchildren go to church camp. She was a very special grandmother to her family and many others who called her ""Mamaw"". She will be greatly missed and the memories will be many.
Born on October 27, 1914 in Robson County, Bald Prairie, Texas to Bunyon Brice and Nora Bell Cook, she came to Pelly, Texas with her family at the age of 6 years old. She was married to James Randall Spell for 55 yrs.
She was a long time member of Central Assembly of God Church in Baytown and in her later years attended Deer Park Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, two brothers and a son-in-law.
She is survived by her brother, D.O. Cook of Caldwell; daughter, Imogene Badgett of Baytown; grandchildren, Randy Badgett, Sr. and wife Claudette, Roy Badgett and wife Brenda, Deborah Dickens and husband Gaylon, Kathy Mosser and husband Colin, Terri Glatthaar and husband Don, Lori Ritz and husband Trey; great-grandchildren, Randy Badgett Jr. and wife Sabrina, James Badgett and wife Dashell, Ryan Hyde, Kevin Badgett and wife Melissa, David Badgett and wife Stacey, Christy Hooper, Melissa Briza and husband Tommy, Chad Bailey and wife Amy, Brian Dickens and wife Rebecca, Gary Dickens and wife Lisa, Joshua Mosser and wife Misti, Heather Mosser, Justin Glatthaar, Marissa Glatthaar, Tylor Ritz and Hannah Ritz; 19 great-great-grandchildren, as well as, numerous nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be her Grandsons: Chad Bailey, Brian Dickens, Joshua Mosser, Randy ""Scooter"" Badgett, David Badgett and Kevin Badgett. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Badgett, Gary Dickens, Justin Glatthaar, Ryan Hyde and Tylor Ritz.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial service will be at Memory Gardens immediately following the service.
