

Glenda was the oldest of four children and shared a close bond with her siblings, Carolyn, Mickey and Terry. Much of their childhood was spent growing up together in Baytown where many treasured family memories were made.
She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, where she was a cheerleader and was crowned Ms. Robert E. Lee in 1953.
In August 1953, she married the love of her life, James Hollister. Their marriage was filled with deep love, devotion and family. Glenda loved James with all her heart and together they built a beautiful life centered around their family. While living in Baytown, they were long time members of St. Mark’s Methodist Church.
Glenda had the kindest heart and a gentle spirit that made everyone feel loved and welcomed. She was the proud mother of three boys: Roger Hollister, Kyle Hollister and Trey Hollister. She never regretted not having daughters because her boys were everything to her. She poured her life into loving and caring for her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Hollister; her son, Trey Hollister; her parents, Shelton and Artis Ryals; and her brothers, Terry Ryals and Mickey Ryals.
She is survived by her sons, Roger Hollister and wife Cheryl, and Kyle Hollister and wife Janice; Trey’s widow, Gina Hollister; and her sister, Carolyn Lamb. She also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Jamie Hollister, Rachelle Cyrier, Brittney Goldman, Lance Hollister, Traci Hollister and Trevor Hollister. In addition, she is survived by five treasured great-grandchildren, including Blakely Goldman, Breckyn Goldman, Hawkins Goldman, Summer Hollister and Deacon Hollister.
Glenda will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering devotion to her family and the warmth and kindness she shared so freely with others. Her legacy of love will live on through the many lives she touched.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Earthman Funeral Home located at 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521. The Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Jason Huffman of St. Mark’s Church will officiate. Interment will immediately follow the service at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521.
