

Jay was born on October 9th, 1957 in Baytown Texas. He attended Baytown schools and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1976. He worked for NASA, Pan American Airlines, Harris County Precinct 2, and most recently for Metro as a bus driver.
He enjoyed spontaneous traveling, cooking, going to the movies and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his daughter, and especially playing ball with his grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Guadalupe Salazar Sr. and Mrs. Flora Aguilar
He is survived by his daughter Raemie Garcia and grandson Espen Garcia of La Porte, companion of 10 years Irma DeLuna Tyler and her daughter Ashley Tyler, brother Ernie and Loretta Salazar of Highlands, sisters Carol and Jose Valencia of Baytown, Christy and Danny Jones of Dayton, Dalia Salazar of Webster, Nephews William and Christopher Davis, Adrian Valencia, nieces Lori Gonzalez, Erin and Emily Salazar, Maegan and Tyler Greenwood and great nephew Damian Gonzalez.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Fuentes, Pedro Garcia, Danny Jones, Jose Valencia, William Davis and Christopher Davis.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, March 21st at Earthman Funeral Home. The visitation will be followed by a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.
A procession will leave Earthman Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011 headed for Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Baytown for a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Faith Community Hospice and the Texas Oncology Cancer Center in Baytown.
