Harry Dean Hood, 84, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. Born on August 23, 1936 in Elk City, Oklahoma to John Harmon Hood and Vera Jewell (nee Mott) Hood. Harry was a pilot, active in sports with a deep love of football. He worked for several companies and agencies including: The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, The Federal Aviation Academy as an instructor, as a flight service supervisor for The Federal Aviation Administration in Houston, Midland/Odessa, Austin, Fort Worth and Washington D.C., for Martin Marietta as liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration and owner of Hood and Associates, Inc. (an aviation consulting firm for Washington D.C.).
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Hood; and sister-in-law, Jean Hood. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pamela Hood.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
