Hazel was a fun-loving homemaker. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, and the Astros.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Vander-Ploeg; sister, Helen Gregerson; brothers, Hobart, Herbert, Harold, Hershel, and Herman Largent; and by her parents, Ralph and Nellie Largent.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Anderson of Baytown, Texas, and Carol Wargel of Richmond, Texas; grandson, Michael Wargel of Chandler, Arizona; granddaughter, Mary Santina and husband Mark of Richmond, Texas; great-granddaughters, Hannah and Zeina Santina; niece, Marlene Gregerson, and numerous other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 pm, Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX, 77521. Funeral service will follow and begin at 2 pm. She will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery, in Houston, Texas.
