

J. T. Massey, 91, of Baytown was born September 13, 1919 in Caldwell, TX and moved to Baytown at the age of 2. He passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011. He was a 1937 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and attended Lee College. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He retired from Exxon's Baytown Refinery with 40 years of service in the electrical department. He was a proud U. S. Army veteran, having participated in 5 invasions during WWII, serving in North Africa and was with the 3rd Army that marched into Palermo, Italy under General George S. Patton. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. H. and Beatrice Brymer Massey; brother, Jim Edd Massey; and son, David Massey. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Wilma Jean Massey, daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Larry Wolfe, and son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Michele Massey, all of Baytown; and grandchildren, Katie Gorski and husband Stephen of Houston, Kevin Wolfe of New Braunfels, and Justin Massey of Baytown.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Private graveside services will be held Saturday.
In lieu of usual remembrances contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
