James Findlay

James “Sonny” Findlay, 75, of Baytown was born April 18, 1930 in Menard, TX and passed away Monday, August 15, 2005 in a Houston hospital. He was an avid Robert E. Lee Gander fan and enjoyed watching his grandkids and great grandkids play sports. He worked construction in his earlier years and most recently worked at the Baytown Airport. He was a U. S. Army veteran.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Angel, Greg Angel, Don Lamb, Chad Hill Jr., Darrell Milligan, Tex Woodall, Jay Rosenbaum, and Billy Findlay. Honorary pallbearers will be Beverly Woodall, Charles Detro, James Halford, and Ross Halford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Findlay and Ruby Findlay Charlton, late wife, Janet Findley, and son-in-law, Harold Huron. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rita Findlay; daughters and son-in-law, Debbie Huron, Denise and Darrel Langley, and Tina Rouse; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Bette Detro, Tracy Findlay, Stacy Findlay, and Russell Findlay; stepbrother, Clayton Charlton; grandchildren, Kim Phillips, Brandi Langley, Cody Langley, Jonathan Findlay, Josh Findlay, and Casey Findley; great granddaughters, Morgan Phillips and Jalee Molandes; and special cousins, Nubby and Beverly Woodall.
