

On Friday January 27, 2006, James R. Lovell entered into rest. He was born September 14, 1931 in Bolivar, Texas in Denton County to the union of Ollie and Margie Lovell. He served his country honorably in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was the owner of Baytown Furniture Outlet, B.F.O., Lovell’s Fine Furniture, 4 Queens Realty, 4 Queens Stables, UFO Liquors; Wholesale and Retail. He was a member of Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church. He was the general partner of the Walmart Shopping Center. He served as a board member of the Baytown Opportunity Center, and was a member of the League City Lions Club and the Baytown Rotary Club. He was an advisor to the Harris County Sheriff Dept. Mr. Lovell also served as chairman of the National Youth Horse Congress.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Lovell, and his mother and father.
He is survived by his children, James H. Lovell and wife Linda, Cindy Gudgell, Donald Lovell; step-children, Grace Gillian and husband Michael, Ruth Lindley and husband Russell; grandchildren, Michael Lovell, Russell Lovell, Howard Gudgell II, Allen Gudgell, Mayers Lindley, Kirby Lindley, Kitty Lindley, Michael Gillian, seven great grandchildren; special friends Bernadette and Goldwin Coats; and a host of many friends.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Larry Hayes. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
