James Waverly Reep, 84, of Baytown died Saturday, February 17, 2018 at home. He was born September 18, 1933 in New Waverly, TX to Sam and Gladys Amsler Reep. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1952. After graduation, he was drafted to the United States Army where he served 2 years at the end of the Korean War on the DMZ. He retired from Oxy Chem (Diamond Alkali) with 42 years of service. He was also a member of Central Baptist Church in Baytown. He is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Gladys Amsler Reep and his older brother, Harley. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mickey and one son, Kent. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 10-11am at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Rd., Baytown, TX 77521 with services to immediately follow at 11am. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
