

James Wheeler Robinson, Jr., 76, of Baytown was born September 5, 1938, in Sand Hill, MS and passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015, in a local hospital. He was a 1957 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and a U. S. Marine Corps veteran. He was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church for over 50 years and enjoyed traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James, Sr. and Olema Robinson; sister, Margaret Stapp; and brother-in-law, Hugh Nance. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marie Robinson of Baytown; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Richard Ponder of Dallas; grandson, Eric Cornett of Baytown; nieces and nephews, Candy and Travis Pitkin and their children, of Dickinson and Michelle and Henry Bransford and their children, of Baytown; sister-in-law, Patricia Nance of Baytown; and numerous cousins.
His family will receive friends Friday, July 10, 2015, at the Memorial Baptist Church chapel, 600 W. Sterling St., Baytown, TX 77520, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Randy Piatt officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Pitkin, James Pitkin, Andrew Pitkin, Donnie Lonsford, Richard Ponder, and Bill Nethery.
