

James ""Jim"" Standridge, 69, of Beach City was born May 28, 1945, in Holla Bend, AR and passed away Monday, February 23, 2015, in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He served Beach City as a councilman for 3 years and as mayor for 8 years. He was a member of the Beach City Lion's Club and attended Fisher Road Baptist Church. He retired from Exxon in 2002 with 37 years of service and soon thereafter began consulting in the oil and gas industry. Jim loved cars and going to the family farm in Chester and was an avid and very knowledgeable history and genealogy buff and birdwatcher.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Melton Standridge and grandmother, Lillie Eva Caldwell Malone. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rita Standridge of Beach City; son and daughter-in-law, James Colvit and Torre Standridge of Greensboro, NC; daughters and son-in-law, Cara Standridge Miller of Baytown and Stephanie and Eric Farner of Beach City; mother, Lucille Marie Howell of Russellville, AR; brothers and sister-in-law, Milton and Linda Standridge of Ocean Springs, MS and Robert Allen Blevins of Russellville, AR; grandchildren and spouses, Erin and Dustin Maness, Bethany and Blake Tesar, and Katie Farner; and great granddaughter, Audrey Grace Maness.
His family will begin receiving friends at Navarre Funeral Home Saturday, March 7, 2015, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Sam Hughes officiating.
