Janice Neuman

Rubye Janice Repp Neuman, 90, of Baytown, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Baytown. She was born November 11, 1924 in Graham, Oklahoma to her late parents, J. W. Repp and Ada ""Granny"" Bryant Repp. She moved to Baytown in May 1942 with her parents and her brother, James.

Janice graduated from Robert E. Lee high School in 1943 and then went to work at Humble Oil and Refining. She married Felix Neuman in 1947 and in 1952 Felix rejoined the US Air Force. She joined her husband, traveling extensively, until his retirement, when they returned to Baytown. Mrs. Neuman then went to work at the Harris County Tax Office until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother and son-in-law, Edwin Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Risa Smith; granddaughter, Amanda Smith; great-grandchildren, Leslie Janice Valkner, James Edwin Valkner and Ethan John Valkner and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Navarre Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Houston National Cemetery. Chaplin Judy Simpson of Faith Community Hospice will bring the service.
