

Jean Parker Burleson Creekmore was born in Teague, Texas, Freestone County, on January 8, 1937, to John Parker Burleson and De Lela Mae Partin Burleson. She passed away peacefully at her home in Baytown, Texas, on Sunday, May 29, 2022, 6:26 pm, at the age of 85.
She moved to Baytown in 1951. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1955 and attended Lee College. She married Doyle Eugene Creekmore and they were married for 31 years. She had two children, Lisa and Michael. When her children were young, she stayed home and raised them until they were older then, she became a Texas Realtor. As an active member of Memorial Baptist Church since 1951, she taught Sunday School to kindergarten and first grade students, Sunbeams on Wednesday evenings, and Vacation Bible School during the summer months.
Jean was nicknamed “Little Bug” by a couple of her uncles and her nieces and nephews called her Aunt Buggy. She enjoyed reading, old and new movies, dancing, sewing, traveling, playing bridge, cooking, and decorating her home, but mostly she enjoyed time spent with her family members. She had a strong faith and loved reading her Bible, scriptures, and praying for others. Also, she made a note that all of this information was to be put in her obituary regardless of the length.
She is preceded in death by her mother, De Lela Mae Partin Hood; father, John Parker Burleson and step-mother, Margie Mae Burleson; her grandparents, William Marion Partin and Stella Ann Partin; and, Joseph A. and Agrippa Burleson; very dear cousin, Joe Glenn Burleson; nephew, Mark Robert LaVergne; uncle, John Partin; aunt, Vida Partin; sister, Shirley Ann Burleson LaVergne; in-laws, John Holland and Oma Elizabeth Creekmore; brother-in-law, Bowie Creekmore; sister-in-law, Eunice Creekmore; sister-in-law, Jannie Creekmore; special friends, Bill Williams, Mary Nell Westmoreland, and Gail Fenton Thomas.; and dear friends, Rev. Jenkins and Rev. Ava Lee Woods.
She is survived by her children, daughter, Lisa Kay Creekmore Woods; son, Michael Doyle Creekmore; and, daughter-in-law, Kim Creekmore; grandsons, Rylan Michael Creekmore and Mason Phillip Woods; many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews; special friends, Susan Loggins Davis and Gloria Smith Alexandra.
A private family service will be held to celebrate her life. A special thank you to Phillip Woods for officiating her service and celebration of life.
