Jimmy Dale ""Jim Ware

Jimmy Dale “Jim” Ware, 73, of Baytown, Texas passed away December 22, 2017. Jim was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 28, 1944 to parents, Jenny Kathryn Taylor Ware and Garland Dale Ware. Jim attended Lee College in Baytown before joining the US Navy.

Jim began his career in the grocery business, managing Gerland’s and Weingarten stores in Galveston and Houston. Later, he joined Faust Distributing and after 35 years at Faust, he retired as Vice President of Operations. Jim was an honest and loyal employee and worked with high integrity and a strong work ethic.

Jim owned many motorcycles during his lifetime, and his favorite place to travel was to Big Bend. He would pull a pop up trailer and camp in many state and national parks. If he wasn’t in Big Bend, he was riding the roads in the Texas hill country and was so familiar with them, he could almost ride with his eyes closed.

Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Leah Baird Ware. He is also survived by his favorite daughter, Nicole Ware Kirk and husband, Barrett O’Neil Kirk and his two beloved grandsons, Hudson O’Neil Kirk (7), and Hyland Ware Kirk (2 ½), all of Houston; his favorite step-son, Christopher K. B. Morris of Raleigh, North Carolina; mother, Jenny Ware of Baytown; sister, Charlene Spencer of Austin; brother, Gary Ware of Trinity; and many special cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Garland Ware.

Jim’s family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Thursday, January 4, 2018, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a memorial Celebration of his life to follow at 2:00 p.m. with his nephew, Brandon S. Spencer officiating.
