Jo Ellwood

May 25, 1949 – August 6, 2023

Jo Ellwood passed away on August 6, 2023. Jo was born to Helen Louise Montgomery and Wallace Douglas Black on May 25, 1949 in Alamosa, CO. She graduated from Littlefield (TX) High School in May 1967. She married Charles William Ellwood II on September 11, 1972 in Lubbock, TX. Later in life, Jo became a Certified Nurse’s Assistant and worked for hospice and Royal Estates of San Angelo - Assisted Living. She was a member of Cy-Fair church of Christ in Cypress, TX. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Helen Black; husband Charles Ellwood; son, Russell Ellwood; and four siblings; Carole Hutchins, Louise Ray, Jim Black & Sammy Black.

She is survived by her son, William Ellwood and wife Brittany of Cypress, TX, and grandchildren Vivienne and Edward; and two siblings; Judy Eddleman of Houston, TX & Dan and wife Karole Black of Hobbes, NM, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Darlene D’Olive of Baytown, TX for the love she showed and the care she gave during Jo’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in Jo’s name.

A memorial service will be held at 6 pm, Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Eastside Church of Christ, 3107 N Hwy 146, Baytown, TX 77520.
