

She was born November 16, 1927 in Roxton, Texas to her late parents, Herbert Martin and Minnie Springer Martin, was a longtime resident of the Baytown and LaPorte area, worked at the La Petite Child Care Academy in LaPorte and had also worked at Brown and Root.
Jo's favorite hobbies included reading, cooking and watching television and earlier in life enjoyed golfing and playing bridge.
Mrs. Maul was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Albert Dawson and Fred ""Bud"" Maul; brothers, Jack Martin and Morris Martin and sisters, Dorothy Bailey and Mary Smith.
Her survivors include: son, Terry Dawson and his wife Sheree of Baytown; daughter, Pam Bowman and her husband Rick of Zachary, Louisiana; grandchildren, Josh Brooks, Chance Dawson and his fiancé Kim Marrett, Zachary Brooks and his fiancé Anya Gorson and Kristi Maris and her husband Mike; great-grandchildren, Courtland Maris, Dawson Maris and Corabeth Maris; sister, Rae Lyles and her husband Eldridge; brother, Ralph Martin; sister-in-law, Billy Martin; brother-in-law, Smitty Smith; her long-time companion, Charlie Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Grand View Cemetery in Pasadena with Brother Bill Yowell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2008 at Navarre Funeral Home.
