

Joe was born July 26, 1921, in Deepwater, TX, to Ora Mae and Ross (Bo) Bowman. Joe served in the Navy in World War II. He was employed by Exxon for 35 years. He retired and moved to Livingston, TX, to open a florist shop, sold the shop after two years to go fishing. He was a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church.
Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his parents, Ora Mae and Ross Bowman; son, Dudley E. (Bo) Bowman of New Orleans, LA; sister, Anna Faye Davis of Baytown, and Charles (Cotton) Bowman of Cedar Bayou.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Rosa Mae Ellender Bowman; sisters, Lena Mae Wilder of Baytown, and Mary Ruth and Virgil Gourley of Cedar Bayou. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Norma Kovar Bowman of Canyon Lake, TX; grandchildren, Sherri Arias of Kenner, LA, Rosa Jene and John Williams of Cypress, TX, Joe and Claudia Bowman of Kenner, LA, and numerous other family members and a host of friends.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Remington Park for their loving care.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 30, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Earthman Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be Saturday, March 31, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Bro. Mark Broussard of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church officiating.
Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Malcome Wilder, Terry Wilder, Bobby Dale Davis, Darrell Davis, Charlie Davis, Virgil Ross Gourley and Troy Bowman. Honorary pallbearer will be W.L. Kovar, Jr.
