

Joy Lynne Adcock Greenawalt, 88, passed away on July 22, 2024 in Baytown, TX. Joy was born in Baytown, TX in 1935 to Wynn “Pee Wee” and Pebble Ewing. Joy worked hard as a nurse for San Jacinto Hospital and Dr. G.G. Fraga at the MBA and his private practice. She was a member of Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, and entertaining her family. She was proud to be a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School class of ’54, and she spent a great deal of time helping to organize several class reunions.
Joy is preceded in death by her father, Wynn Ewing; her mother, Pebble Ewing Kohltfarber; her brother, Robert “Bob” Ewing; her husbands, Merl Adcock and Robert “Bob” Greenawalt; her son, Terry Adcock; and her daughter-in-law, Carla Adcock.
Known to her family as “Bah,” she is survived by her sister, Jeanne Warren; her son, Ronnie Adcock; her two daughters, Kay Perez and Sherrill Santana (Gilbert); her daughter-in-law, Sandy Adcock; and her eight grandchildren, Terrill Pitkin (Courtney); Bryant Pitkin (Leah); Megan O’Bannion (Shaun); Sara Davis (Vince); Kasi Bevel (Ryan); Amy Conner (Bubba); Adam Adcock-Perez (Myra); and Olivia Gutierrez (Nicholas). She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. Joy loved babies and children. They brought her so much happiness to her life. She was always willing to be the designated babysitter. She will be missed greatly by all these family members and her many friends.
Visitation will be held from 9-10 am, Friday, July 26, 2024, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX, 77521, with the funeral service to follow at 10 am.
