Joyce Nell Welch

Joyce Nell Welch was 75 years old. She was born on October 2, 1946, in Mercedes, Texas. She graduated to Heaven to be with Jesus on April 15, 2022 at her home in Highlands, Texas surrounded by her family.

Joyce was raised in Donna, Texas. She attended McAllen High and graduated high school in 1966. She then attended Pan American University.

Joyce and her husband, Terry, moved to Anahuac, Texas in 1982 and she was a Pastor’s wife there for 12 years. They moved to Baytown in 1994. She taught K-4 at Victory Christian Academy for four years. She then taught at Southeast Christian School for four years. She was currently helping Terry run his blind business, Terry’s Window Trim. She worked in several ministries at Hillside Church in Mont Belvieu, which was her church home for almost 30 years.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Ray Youngblood, her mother, Sarah Nell Youngblood, and her youngest brother, Glenn Lester Youngblood.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 48 years, Terry Welch; brother, Charles Youngblood; sister and brother-in-law, Roland & Tabitha Youngblood Shepherd; son and daughter in law, Jason & Sandi Welch; daughter and son in law, Jeromey & Julie Anderson, her four grandchildren - Cade Welch, Jace Welch, Colton Anderson, & Braydon Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 10 am, Friday, April 22, 2022, at Navarre Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Cade Welch, Colton Anderson, Braydon Anderson, Cody Shepherd, Caleb Youngblood, Kolby Fenley, and Caleb Morgan.
